Liguria Italy Holiday Hotel?

In Italy Liguria is the third smallest region, but it is actually part of the country’s popular Riviera and it has always been a desirable family vacation spot for wealthy worldwide holiday makers who are searching for the warmness and attractiveness that the location offers. The beaches tend to be wide, the hotels superior, and although a few of the little villages have come to be slightly run down, it is still an area in which visitors can get a taste of the good life… if even for a day or two.

Concealed between the Alps and the sea, the Liguria Region is definitely recognized for the pleasurable weather conditions it provides, maybe best described as warm. In all actuality, the mountains protect the area from bad weather conditions and provide plentiful sunshine. The average summer time temperature lands close to 75 degrees Fahrenheit whilst winter temperatures rarely dip below about 50 degrees. That offers a lot of options for enjoying the outdoor magnificence of the region, even during the colder months.

The capital of the Liguria Region is the city of Genoa, one of the most popular and most important ports in the Mediterranean. As a matter of fact, Genoa was the home of Christopher Columbus. Part of the old city of Genoa rests on the UNESCO Site list, highly regarded for its abundant history and other classy gems, such as Renaissance Romanesque St Lawrence Cathedral and a number of other classic buildings, like Palazzo Ducale, and there are still city walls remaining, some that were constructed as early as the 9th century.

One of the most well known areas in the Liguria Region is San Remo, positioned in the area west of Genoa. Home to a popular municipal Casino that was developed in 1905, San Remo, a very ethnic region, is often referred to as being in a state of “perpetual spring”, providing weather that is perfect for both inside and outside pursuits including sunbathing, golfing, or going to the opera, symphony, or theate. It’s been home to the San Remo Music Festival since 1951. On the eastern side of Genoa is the so-called Coast of the Rising Sun, along with its rocky shoreline and villages that aren’t really developed as well as that are just west of the capital city. When traveling you will notice after a few miles that visitors can spot a captivating little town that will simply astound. If peaceful is your thing, head for Santa Margherita Ligure, a tranquil getaway with a pretty beach and friendly folks. Need a little more glitz? Go to the much more popular town of Portofino, a small angling community and tourist area where the beauty will simply knock your socks off.

Where food is involved, this region is just best known as the birth place of pesto sauce but is also noted for its fantastic seafood as well. Every day the freshest catches will be right here and among the best you can get while touring Italy. Don’t miss the chance to delight in a tasty meal by the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Other well known holiday resorts in Liguria include Rapello and Alassio.
